LGBTQ+ Therapy
“You are a terribly real thing in a terribly false world.” — Emilie Autumn
Living authentically isn’t always met with acceptance.
You may be navigating questions around identity, relationships, family, belonging, or safety. You might be carrying the impact of rejection, invisibility, discrimination, or the pressure to constantly explain who you are.
This is a space where your experiences don’t need to be justified or translated — where you can speak freely, without assumptions being made about you.

Your identity is not a debate
A safe and affirming space to just be
I offer a warm space to explore identity, belonging, relationships, and the often complex emotions that come with living authentically in a world that may not always feel safe. This can include the impact of coming out, living openly or privately, navigating family dynamics, internalised shame, discrimination, or questions around belonging and self-acceptance.
Whether you’re navigating your sexual orientation, questioning your gender identity, facing relationship challenges, or carrying the emotional weight of these experiences, therapy can offer a place where you are seen and heard exactly as you are.
You don’t need to explain or justify your existence here. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support that is trauma-informed, compassionate, and respectful of your lived experience.
Your shame is not yours to carry.
Your identity is not the problem — the pain you carry around it is
Living as an LGBTQ+ person in a world that often misunderstands, marginalises, or invisibilises our experience can be profoundly painful. We may have internalised shame, felt the fear of coming out, or lost connection with ourselves or others along the way. We might be carrying grief, anger, confusion — or simply the weight of having to constantly explain, defend, or protect who we are.
Therapy isn’t about fixing who we are. It’s about creating space to understand ourselves more deeply, process the wounds we may carry, and reclaim the right to live fully and freely. Common themes I work with include:
Coming out — at any age or life stage
Exploring gender or sexual identity
Internalised shame or guilt
Reconnecting with our body and emotions
The impact of homophobia, transphobia, or biphobia
Navigating relationships
Rebuilding trust after rejection or trauma
Support through transition (emotional, social, or medical)
Loneliness and isolation
Family dynamics and challenges
Whether you’re seeking to reconnect with your sense of self, make sense of past hurts, or build more authentic relationships, therapy can offer a space to explore this with care and honesty. You deserve support that sees the whole of you. Your identity is not a problem to be solved — it’s part of what makes you human. You don’t have to face this alone.
