Are you experiencing depression?

Understanding and Coping with Depression

It’s very common for people to experience feelings of depression or anxiety at some point in our lives. Whether it’s a short-term experience or a chronic situation, it can interfere with our daily functioning. Life circumstances such as the loss of a loved one, a breakup, a job loss, or physical changes, can trigger feelings of loneliness, fear, sadness, hopelessness, guilt, worthlessness, anger, frustration, and even thoughts of suicide.

During this challenging time, it may be difficult to find joy, meaning, and purpose in life. You may withdraw from social groups and isolate yourself, experiencing symptoms such as changes in appetite, sleep issues, difficulty concentrating, and memory loss.

Are you struggling with anxiety and/or panic attacks?

Finding calm amidst the storm of anxiety

Anxiety can manifest as intense feelings of fear, panic, terror, or dread. These feelings may leave you physically and emotionally drained, causing you to avoid everyday activities. This can lead to distressing symptoms such as a racing heart, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, trembling hands or limbs, brain fog, racing thoughts, or feeling detached from your body. You may also experience obsessive thoughts and worry excessively. Chronic anxiety is often a huge contributor of the development of panic attacks. No matter how awful the experience is during a panic attack, it is often our body trying to tell us, that something isn’t right for us and it needs urgent attention.

anxiety and depression

A safe haven for confronting your mental health struggles

When struggling with depression or anxiety, many people try to avoid or deny their feelings by self-medicating or engaging in unhelpful behaviors. However, this approach to healing is like pushing dirt under the carpet – it may be out of sight, but it’s never really gone. As a therapist, I can help you cope with your pain, thoughts, and feelings in a healthy, constructive manner by providing a safe space where we can explore them without judgment.
